BMSF senior vice-president Rimon Demand to withdraw the case filed against John


Whip Shamsul Haque Chowdhury has filed a case against Saidur Rahman Rimon senior vice-president of the central committee of Bangladesh Mofsbol Journalists Forum and Naeem Nizam, editor of Bangladesh Pratidin.  The case was filed against 11 people, including Bashundhara Group chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan and his son Sayem Sobhan Anvir.

In a statement sent to media on Wednesday afternoon BMSF central committee chairman Shahidul Islam Pilot and general secretary Ahmed Abu Jafar demanded immediate withdrawal of the case.  Otherwise, a nationwide protest rally demanding the withdrawal of the falsely-arranged case was also warned.

He filed the case in the Patia Joint District Judge's Court on August 18 (Wednesday).The case was filed on his behalf by Senior Advocate Deepak Kumar Shil, President of Patia Bar Association.

Defendants in the case are: Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan Shah Alam, East West Media Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Bangladesh Pratidin and News24 Editor Naeem Nizam, Kaler Kantha Editor Imdadul Haque Milon, Daily Sun Editor Enamul Haque Chowdhury, BMSF Senior  Saidur Rahman Rimon and Riaz Haider, President and Head of Bangladesh Daily Crime Investigation Cell, SM Rana of Kaler Kantho, Mohammad Selim, and Jewel Mazhar, Editor of Banglanews.

The leaders said that they could not be silenced by filing a case against the journalists.  The country's journalists are vocal against the lawsuits and attacks in the name of journalists.
