The government is committed to ensuring that no one goes hungry : Sheikh Selim

Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim MP, Member of Awami League Presidium and Member of Parliament for Gopalganj-02 constituency, said it would be possible to build the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu's dream if the basic rights of every human being could be guaranteed. The government is committed to ensuring that no one goes hungry.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a groundbreaking ceremony for the Climate Tolerant Housing Project for the Poor in the Sonakur area of ​​the municipal area in collaboration with Gopalganj Municipality, funded by UNDP and UKAID, on Tuesday (November 23).

Additional District Magistrate Md. Kazi Liaquat Ali Lekur presided over the meeting.  Iqbal Hossain, District Awami League General Secretary Mahabub Ali Khan, Sadar Upazila Chairman Sheikh Lutfar Rahman Bachchu, UNDP Senior Advisor Abdul Mannan spoke.

Municipal councilors, Awami League leaders and activists were present on the occasion.

Under this project, 336 houses will be constructed on 30 acres of land at a cost of Taka 33 crore for the marginalized people of the district.
