Tribute to Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni on his birthday

Writer-journalist Shahid Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni, one of the organizers of the war of liberation and the founding chairman of Juba League, celebrated his birthday on Saturday (December 4).Talented politician Sheikh Moni was born on 4 December 1939 in Tungipara Sheikh family of Gopalganj. On 15 August 1975, the assassins brutally killed Sheikh Mani and his pregnant wife Arju Moni along with Bangabandhu's family.

Juba League has undertaken various programs on the occasion of Sheikh Moni's birthday.  The party laid a wreath at the graves of Shaheed Sheikh Moni and 15 August martyrs at Banani Cemetery at 9.30 am today. Besides, a discussion meeting and cultural program titled 'Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani: Symbol of Creative Youth' was held in front of the party office on Bangabandhu Avenue at 11am.

Awami League presidium member Matia Chowdhury was the chief guest in the discussion meeting. World University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. chief negotiator.  Abdul Mannan Chowdhury. Juba League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams presided over the function while General Secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil presided over the function.

Before the prayers Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni, presidium member of Bangladesh Awami Juba League, former successful president of FBCCI, chairman of D-8 and chairman of Indian Ocean Rim Business Forum (IORBF) said that Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni was one of the thinkers of Bengal. His contribution to the great liberation war is unique. He was the commander of Mujib's forces. The Juba League was established on the instructions of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to bring the youth back to the path of light.  He has played an important role in politics as well as journalism.
