Tulip Siddique has been appointed as the Shadow Economic Secretary

Tulip Siddique MP granddaughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been appointed as the shadow economic secretary of the new shadow cabinet of the UK's main opposition Labor Party. She will also be the Shadow Minister for the Financial City of London.

In a tweet Tulip Siddique confirmed his new responsibilities. Tulip previously served as Shadow Minister for Early Years of Education for the Labor Party in 2016 working on child welfare and pre-primary education. Before Tulip Corbyn's first shadow cabinet was the personal secretary to Culture, Media and Sports Minister Michael Dagger. Tulip also serves as a member of the Select Committee on Women and Equality in the United Kingdom Parliament.
